What's included:
Note: Training Peaks Structured Workouts are workouts that specify the athlete’s individualized heart rate, pace or power target (or range). It is based upon the athlete's threshold settings. For Team Element and the Individualized Coaching Program these settings are specified on a 7-Zone analysis are monitored, updated and reported on to you personnally. Programming is targeted to the athlete that is able to complete one hour of moderate to intense activity safely and wishes to train between 5-10 hours per week. Workout sessions are progressive for the two quarters, fall and winter, which comprise the indoor riding season.
- Monthly training plan for multi- or single sport that uses Training Peaks structured workouts for individualized training application. You choose the sports (swim, bike and/or run) and a monthly training plan is uploaded to your Training Peaks account. All workouts can be applied to indoor or outdoor settings (See note below for additional explanation)
- Strength training program: Receive strength training program with videos for instruction and technique tips and variations for appropriate progression.
- Live or recorded online bike sessions using Zoom focused on fitness, strength and technique. (Click here for live times)
- Join your team and test your fitness in identified bike races using Zwift every 2nd Saturday of each month (Power recording device required).
- Access to live or recorded monthly online learning events in mindset, nutrition, training or recovery.
- Access to in-person training, camps and events (Additional Cost).

Element Fondo Fundamentals
Your training package can include one or all of the following elements:
- Skills: Two skills clinic with The Cycling Co.
- Fitness: On-line Training Program through Training Peaks
- Learn: Private Facebook Group with Live Video Sessions to ask all those questions you have always wanted to!
- Fun: Group rides supported by the Element Race Team
Get Skills: The instructors of The Cycling Co will take you through the fundamental skills that will give you confidence in how to ride in a group (pelotons), what to look for to stay safe and how to negotiate other riders safely. You will learn how to climb a hill with efficiency and how to descend safely.
Get Fit: This on-line training program for cycling goes beyond putting in miles. You will learn how to pace yourself, when to push and when to recover. You will hit the gym. You will get stronger. You also will learn how to fuel for rides and during rides according to your unique physiology. The program is delivered through the on-line platform Training Peaks and each workout specifies your workload according to either your maximum heart rate or functional threshold power. What this means is that it is geared specifically to you. If you have never thought of yourself as an “athlete” it is time to start!
Highlights of the program:
- Five months of workouts each month starting April 1st
- Use either maximum heart rate or power meter to enhance training effect
- Weight Training Program with special consideration to female physiology
- Local route suggestions to complete workout (starting from Switch bridge)
- Technical skill reminders
- Nutrition guidance for specific workouts
Learn: Element Sports Coaching Head Coach will be hosting three private Facebook live sessions so all your questions about training experiences, what to wear, what to eat can be asked. The Facebook community will also be a forum for other athletes to meet and connect on rides. Only athletes signed up with the training program will have access.
Have Fun: The Element Race Team supported by the Victoria Wheelers is committed to creating a safe and welcoming cycling community, free of intimidation, where women of all ages have the confidence and skill to participate or race at recreational or competitive cycling events. The Victoria Wheelers Women’s Rides supported by the NCCP trained Element Race Team are open and free to all females wanting to find a welcoming group to ride with. Depending on the group size there may be varying speeds. If you participate in more than 2 group rides per annum it is mandatory you purchase a Club membership for insurance purposes. *For safety reasons all participants on this ride MUST have participated in The Cycling Co. basic and group skills workshop on April 5th. Should you not be able to attend this session and wish to be part of the program, consider a separate private or semi-private session with the Cycling Co.
